Lorenzo

Paul has been the highlight of our son's academic year! Lorenzo (age 8) has one hour per week zoom sessions with Paul and two other boys to work on his writing. Paul has really made an effort to get to know each of the three boys individually and their strengths and weaknesses. He gets them to collaborate really well together in the lessons, making sure each one has his voice heard and they respect each others' ideas and opinions. He also gets them to offer feedback on each others' work, which is great.

Paul always chooses interesting and inspiring topics to write about, such as flight, climate change and the human body, as well as some creative writing. Since working with Paul, Lorenzo's writing has really blossomed. In their first session, he had pronounced to Paul that he hated writing and that he didn’t think he was any good at it. Now, Paul has really inspired the writer in him, and he writes 2-3 homework pieces each week normally without resistance!

He has also gotten much better at editing and revising his work, as well as taking on board feedback. He has learned to do research and take notes on nonfiction texts, and then use that to add details to his writing pieces effectively. Lorenzo has even published his first book on Amazon! He thoroughly enjoys the classes themselves and looks forward to them. He has also learned a lot about science since Paul is very good at getting the kids interested in science ideas. We would recommend Paul without hesitation to anyone looking for writing tuition or elementary science.
